This is my Cthulhu cultist on his stand, next to the collectible version (unpainted). He's standing on some kind of rocky gate; there are some runes carved in the base. I painted the skin a dusky brown because the Cthulhu cultists are Polynesian. The bases are painted to look like stone, but I added the faction color to the pedestal top; the original pedestal was stony as well, but it looked too much like the rocky base of the figure. Underneath the cultist's hood is a skull mask, but it's hard to see from this angle. The robes are dark green highlighted with jade; it was from a new pot of paint and both colors came from the same pot (guess I didn't mix them completely). |
Deep ones are hybrids, part human and part fish-man. They are deep ocean dwellers and are associated with Cthulhu cults. Many deep ones were born as humans and degenerated into their current form. I went with a frog-like color scheme, light green on top with a pale yellow underside. The eyes didn't come out right; I tried to make human eyes, but the color didn't show well. There are red fins and red gills to provide more color. The collectible version and stand is shown to the left. |
