I have the figures displayed below - they're pretty nice, being solidly built with a decent amount of texture and features. They are also relatively large compared to some of the D&D figures. Some pieces are sort of cartoonish, especially the ghouls, but they are faithful to the game models (now that I've seen them I can appreciate it).
Wherever there are 3+ of the figures, I let each of S1 and D1 have one to paint. The twosies I may keep for myself - the detail looks challenging and I think I'll take more than one stab at it. My kids each claimed one of the big figures to paint on their own.
As usual, we must give the figures a bath before priming them. The kids enjoy the bathing process (or at least forcing someone or something else to undergo it) but the trick is to get the work done before total chaos becomes more attractive than whatever menial task I have set before them.
